Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Egon work at the University where they delve into the paranormal and fiddle with many unethical experiments on the students. As they are kicked out of the University do they really understand their knowledge of the paranormal and go into business for themselves. Under the new snazzy business name of 'Ghostbusters', and living in the old firehouse building they work out of, they are called to rid New York City of paranormal phenomenon at everyone's whim…. for a price. They make national press as the media thinks and pressures everybody the Ghostbusters are the cause of it all. Thrown in jail by the EPA, the mayor takes a chance and calls on them to help save the city. Unbeknownst to all, a long dead Gozer worshiper (Evo Shandor) erected downtown apartment building is the cause of all the paranormal activity. They find out the building could resurrect the ancient Hittite god, Gozer, and bring an end to all of humanity. Who are you gonna call to stop this terrible world-ending menace? Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler are three scientists at Columbia University in New York City. When their grant expires, the guys are fired and they go into business as a ghost extermination company called "Ghostbusters". Their first customer is orchestra cello player Dana Barrett, who was scared out of her apartment on the 22nd floor of a high rise apartment building on Central Park West. It seems that Dana's neighbor, Louis Tully, is also being affected by the strange happenings in the apartment building. Armed with proton guns, the Ghostbusters become wildly popular, and they are joined by Winston Zeddmore, who is looking for a job with good pay. Overzealous Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) agent Walter Peck thinks the Ghostbusters are frauds, and he has the Ghostbusters put in jail. Peck is forced to believe the Ghostbusters when New York City is put under siege by an ancient Sumerian God named Gozer the Gozerian, who is channeled through the apartment building that Dana and Louis live in, and the mayor has no choice but to let the Ghostbusters out of jail to face Gozer. Ghostbusters is a movie from 1984 starring Bill Murray (Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, Moonrise Kingdom), Dan Aykroyd (The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters Franchise, Trading Places), Harold Ramis (Groundhog Day, Analyze This, Ghostbusters Franchise) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien Franchise Avatar). It was written Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Rick Moranis (Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Spaceballs, Strange Brew) and is directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters Franchise, Up in the Air, No Strings Attached).

Ghostbusters follows three scientists: Peter (Bill Murray), Ray (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon (Harold Ramis) as they start their own ghost catching business and their biggest job yet is in a musician named Dana's (Sigourney Weaver) own refrigerator.

This hilarious movie is carried by is fun characters brought to life by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis. They are each very different and very funny in their own ways. Murray plays a classic, sarcastic Bill Murray character, Aykroyd plays a nervous quiet man who is really excited to be living out his dream and Ramis plays a very smart, nerdy, and odd man. They ad-lib most of their lines which makes this all even better.

I actually think the success of Ghostbusters led to all of this ghost hunter reality show crap we see on TV today. This was the first movie to really have the idea of ghost hunting itself which means it is very original and started a ghost craze and a (not so good) sequel.

Most of the effects in this movie do look quite dated while films like Blade Runner (which came out two years earlier) do not. But all of this adds to the fun of this incredibly fun, hilarious movie from the 80's. Ghostbusters(1984)

Director: Ivan Reitman Writers: Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis Stars: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver Synopsis :Three doctors are kicked out of their university because of their useless work .They decide to start their own ghostbusting business Review : Ghostbusters one of the best classic comedy films you will ever watch .The story-line was good and the comedy's lines were hilarious the acting was brilliant especially Bill Muraay's acting it was perfect .The movie has a good action scenes . Some of the film's special effects have aged well,And others haven't .The movie's soundtrack were amazing .The ending was a typical Hollywood ending . Do i recommend you to watch this movie? I'd say i do if you want to watch enjoyable movie My rating 8:10 Ghostbusters is a hoot. It's Murray's picture, and in a triumph of mind over matter, he blows away the film's boring special effects with his one-liners. Spotting a lusty, totally transformed, fire-breathing Slgourney Weaver, whose body has been overtaken by a spirit, Murray walks past her saying, "That's a new look for you, isn't it?" Thank you, Bill. And don't get outta here, you knucklehead. We like you in this kind of movie. When three parapsychologists—Doctors Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis)—are fired from their positions at New York's Columbia University, they decide to set up shop together and become "ghostbusters" dedicated to trapping ghosts and other nasty spirits. Unfortunately, they're mostly considered to be frauds, until an ancient Sumerian god, Gozer the Gozerian, takes up residence in the high-rise apartment of Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver), and it seems that only the Ghostbusters can save the Big Apple. The script for the motion picture Ghostbusters was written by co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, who also wrote the sequel Ghostbusters II (1989) (1989). The film has been twice been novelized as Ghostbusters (1984) by Larry Milne and again as Ghostbusters: The Supernatural Spectacular (1985) by Richard Mueller (the movie's popularity also led to two animated television series, The Real Ghost Busters (1986) (later renamed Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters (1988)) (1986-1991) and Extreme Ghostbusters (1997) (1997) as well as numerous computer and video games. A remake/parody, Ghostbusters (2016)—complete with new-character cameos of the original cast—was released in 2016. The Board of Regents decided to terminate their grant on the grounds that their theories were "the worst kind of popular tripe," their methods were "sloppy," their conclusions were "highly questionable," and they are all-around "poor scientists." Venkman in particular was accused of using his position with the Psychology Department as some kind of "dodge or hustle." The slime that was found in the library and other places that were haunted by ghosts is described as "ectoplasmic residue," a substance that is supposed to exist on the etheric (or spiritual) plane and can remain behind in the wake of a spiritual, i.e., ghostly, manifestation. The story provides no further explanation as to why it exists or how it seeps into the realm of the living. Perhaps it signifies amniotic fluid, in that spirits emulate birth when traversing the etheric plane.

It was sold by the jar in toy stores to children. Zuul the Gatekeeper, Gozer the Sumerian god of Destruction, and Vinz Clortho the Keymaster were all made up for the movie. However, following the release of Ghostbusters, fans made up a number of legacies, rituals and mythologies about them, none of which have any true history. The song is "Magic" by Mick Smiley. However, the answer to this question is frequently disputed by those complaining that the start of "Magic" as heard on the soundtrack album sounds nothing like the track used in the film. This is because the film uses only the second half of the song, which sounds much different from the first half. Start playing the track at about 2:20 in to hear it as it was in the film. Gozer gave the Ghostbusters a choice of the form Gozer will become as "The Destroyer". If The Ghostbusters thought and had chosen for example: The Joker from Batman, Gozer would reappear in that form to destroy them. The Ghostbusters had to clear their minds and not think of anything or anyone that would appear and destroy them. But Ray had thought of the Mr. Stay Puft Marshmellow Man and Gozer reappeared as the form chosen by Ray, which Ray believed couldn't possibly destroy them, as kids would toast marshmellows at camp fires and The Ghostbusters used their proton packs to zap at Mr. Stay Puft/Gozer and set Mr. Stay Puft/Gozer on fire. Ray's remark to Louis in the movie is "You have been a participant in the biggest interdimensional cross rip since the Tunguska blast of 1909!" First, the writers got the year wrong; the event occurred on June 30th, 1908. Ray's talking about a possible meteor strike in southern Central Russia that had a huge blast area. More info can be read here. After climbing up the 22 flights to the penthouse and going out on the roof, the Ghostbusters find that Dana (Sigourney Weaver) and Louis (Rick Moranis) have been transformed into Zuul and Vinz Clortho, two huge demonic dogs guarding Gozer's gateway. Slowly, Gozer comes sauntering through the gate. Ray orders her to stop all supernatural activity and return to her own realm. Gozer asks him if he is a god, and Ray stupidly replies, "No," so Gozer tosses all four of them across the roof, almost knocking them off the ledge. The Ghostbusters neutralize her with their proton packs, and Gozer disappears, but her voice can be heard ordering them to choose the form she is to take in order to destroy the world. Everyone tries to clear their minds, but an image of the Stay Puft marshmallow man pops into Ray's head. In that giant form, the Traveler comes walking down the street, laying wreck to everything around her. Egon suggests that they may be able to close the gate by zapping it with their proton packs and allowing the particle streams to cross. The plan is successful, Mr Stay Puft is reduced to great gobs of melted marshmallow crème, and Dana and Louis are released from their dog bodies. In the final scenes, the Ghostbusters emerge from the building to the cheers of the crowd, Dana kisses Venkman, and they all drive off in Ecto 1. For the UK television release, approximately six scenes were shortened and swearwords removed. a5c7b9f00b The Purge hd mp4 downloadthe Star Trek: The Next Generation downloadmalayalam movie download Stop VI - Joe Run!
